Casa De Luta MMA Saarbrücken growing day by day

It seems unbelievable that almost two years have already passed since the opening of Casa de Luta Saarbrücken. With a rather complicated start, not knowing when we would be able to open our doors, due to COVID-19, taking humanity by surprise. Once the confinements were relaxed, and the situation was under control, we were allowed to open the gym with an implemented regulation, mask, safety distance, no contact and daily test. Even so, we managed to adapt our trainings, always looking to keep our students motivated in such a complicated situation. As I always tell myself, spend your time looking for solutions to problems, and not the other way around. That's what Jiu Jitsu is all about, learning to adapt to any situation.. Solo Drills and training circuits were received with great enthusiasm, and were very useful as an initiation to what will be with contact months later.  In almost two years we have quadrupled the number of students, doubled the number of trainings, and still mor

New Trainingsplan at Casa de Luta Saarbrücken

We continue to expand and add trainings to our schedule at Casa de Luta Saarbrücken. Working day by day to improve our training and at the same time benefiting our students with more hours to train. And it doesn't end here, as usual with us, more surprises are to come in 2023, where we will add specific MMA trainings for those who we believe have the experience and technical level to enjoy them. In our philosophy and way of seeing MMA, we believe that every student should acquire some basic knowledge in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Wrestling before being able to enter MMA completely, where knowledge of each of these last named arts are so important. We do not believe in teaching MMA as a single martial art, because as the name suggests MMA is a combination and mixture of different martial arts; So in Casa de Luta Saarbrücken we always seek to show and achieve in our students the highest possible quality level, and it will only be possible to achieve if our student

Casa de Luta Saarbrücken Selbstverteidigung und MMA at SBBZ Saarbrücken

New Jiu Jitsu Brown Belts at Casa de Luta Saarbrücken

This last week was very important for me, because I could finally promote two of my best friends and one of the best fighters in the team, with a great experience in MMA and Grappling, Yanick and Marvin. Two promotions that should have been done a long time ago, but could not be... Coach and owner of the gym where we trained before, had used as a punishment not to promote any of the fighters who trained in my classes, including myself. But thanks to Professor Sergio Zimmermann Canudo and Carlson Gracie Jr., and after talk to them about this situation, and leave the team, everything changed completely, and everything went back to the normal path. Having an honest and sincere vision of what Jiu Jitsu really is: No egos, jealousy or punishment, as it should have always been.  A common problem and sadly often in the martial arts. Example: "They won't be promoted if they only attend your classes and not mine...". Instead of wondering why people stopped attending your classes a

Pierre Olivier Leclerc last training session at Casa de Luta Saarbrücken on his way to the European IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu No Gi Championship 2022

An unexpected visit thanks to our friend and black belt Pierre Manzo. Pierre Olivier Leclerc wanted to visit Casa de Luta Saarbrücken, taking advantage of a seminar he had scheduled at Pierre Manzo's gym ( Jiu Jitsu Family ) France, on his European Tour, two hours away from where we are located.  Pierre-Olivier Leclerc is a rising star in professional Jiu Jitsu, as much for his technical level as for his achievements. He evolves under the tutelage of Firas Zahabi and John Danaher. He currently trains at B-Team Jiu Jitsu, Austin (Texas).  Built by some of the most talented grapplers to ever compete: Craig Jones, Ethan Crelinsten, Nicky Ryan and Nick Rodriguez. Over the years, he has participated in many of the biggest professional tournaments around the world where he has defeated multiple black belt opponents. In recent years, Pierre-Olivier has competed and taught throughout North America and Europe. His understanding of modern Jiu-Jitsu allows him to develop a style that is log

chinkilla x Casa de Luta Saarbrücken: Kostenloses Kampfsport Meetup für Frauen

A wonderful and unforgettable day! Where more than 40 women attended our Meetup and free Martial Arts seminar in the city of Saarbrücken (Germany). A seminar that consisted of more than two hours, where the girls there had the opportunity to attend a kickboxing class by trainer Sarah Barakah, a self-defense class by trainer Dani Koenig and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class by brown belt Katrin Welker. Three trainings, where the main focus was self-defense in case of aggression, always directed in a simple and effective way, and if possible, trying to avoid conflict or physical contact. At all times we seek to be realistic and keep our women safe, without trying to sell something fancy or non-functional in real life. Our teachings are based and tested in real situations, yet always being cautious and as we said before always leaving self-defense as a last option if possible.  Our Casa De Luta Saarbrücken Only Women´s Seminars are 100% free for participants. We try to bring as much martial a

Abelbjj and Leglocks at Casa de Luta Saarbrücken

Leglocks They are the great equaliser and give you a totally unfair advantage on the mat. Leglocks allow you to go against people who should be completely dominating you, turn the tables, and tap them out instead. Leglocks are the easiest way to submit a more experienced grappler. We’re at a funny stage now in jiu-jitsu… There are lots of grapplers who are super skilled at the traditional upper body submissions but are still absolute beginners at leglocks. It’s not the way it should be, but many BJJ black belts are wizards at armbars and triangle chokes but only white belts when it comes to understanding the lower body game. This creates a HUGE opportunity for you right now to submit higher belts.  All you need is to know what to do. The leglock game is a very technical battle, and a little bit of knowledge goes a long way. So having even a bit more knowledge in this area than someone else allows you to move into attacks confidently, knowing that he probably won’t have an answer to t

Owen Livesey and Abel Simon (abelbjj) BJJ Rolling Session at Casa de Luta Saarbrücken

Owen Livesey is a British judo athlete, Carlson Gracie black belt, and an absolute monster on his feet and pressure top game. Owen Livesey Instagram: Click Here Abel Simon is Spanish Grappler, Sergio Zimmermann "Canudo" black belt, and an absolute monster on his leglocks. Abel Simon Instagram: Click Here Below we can see a short video of almost 5 minutes of one of the bjj sparring sessions between Owen Livesey and Abel Simon (abelbjj).  This was the last Open Mat session during the three-day Seminar. A controlled sparring session by both fighters, where each of them tried to put their game and where you could see a pretty dominant Owen in his heavy top game, where abel tried to defend himself by retaining and recovering guard; while looking for the entrance to one of his leglocks. Owen made use of a good defense not giving abel space, and keeping the hip controlled at all times, having already studied abel's game in previous days as they rolled, thus avoiding any scares
