  It's been almost two years since the project Casa de Luta Saarbrücken started. A dream of years, an idea that was in my head for a long long time, always there, but I never saw the time to make it come true. An idea that never disappeared from my mind even through circumstances in life that I would never have wished to be, but perhaps without them, I would never have decided to dive headlong into it, because the comfort zone no longer existed.  A moment in my life where everything seemed lost, and where no light or way out was possible. I think that's what made me react in those days...  When you have what you need to live (work, house, money...), you feel satisfied, you feel that it is enough, and do not consider at any time to leave everything and take the risk of doing something that might change your life for the better, that makes you feel happy. I think that today society is more concerned with the economy or material goods than with happiness as a human being.  From ha

It's time to start with Noah Gugnon's preparation for his next professional MMA fight next month in his home country, France. In Casa de Luta Saarbrücken we will mainly prepare his Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Ground & Pound for the fight. During the following weeks, we will do a two-hour intensive workout every morning, thus strengthening his physical and mental condition. The evenings will be expressly focused on his striking. Noah is a very disciplined person, who works every day as if tomorrow is fight day. His mind is always in preparation mode, hungry and eager to fight.   Alec started training with me about a year and a half ago, his beginnings in Jiu Jitsu were in another academy due to the proximity to where he lives. He started with us attending from time to time during open mats, eventually deciding to change teams and dedicate himself 100% to Casa de Luta Saarbrücken. Alec is a hard working, humble and eager to learn guy, with not very good luck due to numerous injuries coming from his life as a boxer before. But injuries are no excuse for Alec, there is no injury that stops him or prevents him from stepping on the mat, something I value and appreciate very much. It is not the same to start Jiu Jitsu at 20 than to start at almost 40, and especially when we talk about athletes who have dedicated body and soul to another sport, in this case Boxing.   I have known Nico for two years, he started under my training in the same period. He had previously coached in his home country, France, and after some time there training, and coming to visit us from time to time during the Open Mats, he decided to join us. A hard working, talented and competitive guy. With some fights already in MMA as an amateur, Nico is a guy that for the short time he has been in Jiu Jitsu, does not cease to amaze on a daily basis with his evolution and learning.   Roman Kapranov is a German Mixed Martial Arts Top Ten legend, retired fighter and black belt under Carlson Gracie Jr. After a long career, more than 10 years as a professional MMA fighter and active Jiu Jitsu competitor, Roman decided to take some time off from martial arts, and  dedicate the precious time that comes with being a fighter to his family and friends, so necessary and important.
