Casa De Luta Fightklub Saarbrücken: Most Common Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Questions

Is BJJ training hard? Regardless of your athletic gifts and propensity to learn,  training BJJ is very hard . Ultimately, there are no real shortcuts or ways to avoid this discomfort and challenge. In fact, the difficult nature of BJJ is the very thing that makes training this art so rewarding. Can you learn BJJ by yourself? No.   You can't learn BJJ at home without a partner . It is not possible.  How often should a beginner train BJJ? If you are a beginner or a “casual” Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, aim for  two to three days a week . Training around two days a week is a good starting point when you're just starting Jiu-Jitsu. You get enough time on the mats to learn and work on your technique while not getting burned out or overtrained. How many days a week should I train BJJ? Twice per week is the bare minimum for consistent progress. If you are recreationally interested in BJJ but cannot afford the time to make more classes, twice per week will improve your BJJ. If you hope to g

John Danaher: Reflections on the mounted position

Reflections on the mounted position: The founders of Jiu jitsu conceived the mounted position as a platform for striking with fists and elbows in a fighting/self defense context. In this context the basic mounted position is devastating all by itself. However, when strikes are prohibited in grappling, it’s loses much of its bite. In grappling, the mounted position only really becomes dangerous again when you can move from the basic mount into other variations of the mounted position that facilitate submissions, in particular, variations that get either get your opponents arm extended up and over his head or that get you high up on opponents chest and perpendicular to your opponent. When you can transition from basic mount to mount variations - THEN the mount regains its bite and becomes dangerous even in a pure grappling context. Next time you’re mounted in grappling training - play around with high mounts and getting angles - don’t be satisfied with just getting mounted - that’s fin

John Danaher: Your strength is in your stance

Your strength is in your stance: It’s good to be strong. Strength helps almost every aspect of combat sports. Understand however, that your greatest source of strength in a match is not from your muscles but from your stance. Show me the strongest man in the room and make him perform in a poor stance and I’ll show you a man who gets manhandled by smaller, weaker opponents who hold a strong stance. In addition that strong man will quickly get exhausted as he compensates for failures in stance with muscular strength. If you want to increase your mat strength, your first step is to improve your stance. Understand that for all the major positions of Jiu jitsu there is an appropriate stance. If you’re just beginning Jiu jitsu and you have no clue what constitutes a good stance in a given position I suggest you watch footage of great champions in competition or even in training and watch not for the flashy elements, or who wins and who loses, as most people do, but rather, focus on observi

Wrestling / BJJ At Casa De Luta Fightklub Saarbrücken

Wrestling is an awesome sport which will help your BJJ, MMA and build character, toughness and discipline that will help you in all aspects of life, forever. BJJ is a profoundly, intricate and elegant sport that you will be able to practice for the rest of your life and will make you lethally dangerous. Studying together will make you a well rounded grappler and if you get the chance to train Judo or Sambo then do those too. Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are two forms of grappling that can benefit from one another, yet there is still a debate on which form of fighting is superior. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purists swear that you don’t need takedowns and that the guard is king, while wrestlers claim you don’t need Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to win a fight on the ground.  Though they share many similarities, a key difference between BJJ and wrestling is intensity. Wrestling, generally speaking, is a more explosive, demanding and aggressive sport. This comes with positives and negatives. The pos

Ryan Hall Gets Into Internet Beef With Garry Tonon and Gordon Ryan

Ryan Hall took to Instagram after the fight and slammed Tonon for being ‘disrespectful’: “Thanh Le: respectful of his opponent’s great skill and confidence in his own abilities won over decades of training. Displays A+ submission defense on the way to an amazing performance over a tough opponent. Other guy: Disrespectful and dismissive.”  The declaration quickly caused a stir in the bjj community and Hall had to defend his remarks. Hall explained he found Tonon’s intro package disrespectful: “Garry stating that he is among the best grapplers in the world and has the ability to submit anyone is entirely justified. He’s relaying a fact there. Going to the equivalent of ‘thanh has nothing he can do on the ground and he’s been ill-prepared by the team with which he trains’ not a fair statement. Outcome this way or that is irrelevant” Hall wrote to explain his call out. Tonon responded by reposting his intro package: Verifiziert I can smell the disrespect from here  @ryanhall5050 . What a &

Kit Dale: “There’s No Right Or Wrong Technique, Just A Right And Wrong Time To Execute It”

Here’s what Kit had to say about “right” and “wrong” techniques, as well as about the importance of timing in BJJ: There is no right or wrong technique, but just a right and wrong time to execute it. Every technique can be countered. So, the timing is the key factor. You can have the most perfect technique, but if you keep telegraphing it, you will rarely be successful with it. On another side, you can have a sloppy technique, but if it’s executed at the right time it will be successful. Additionally, he emphasized the necessity of knowing “why” you’re doing a technique/move: So, focus on the timing. But, in order to know the timing, you must know “why” you’re doing something. If you keep asking “why” to everything in Jiu-Jitsu, you will eventually have a deep intellectual understanding of it. It’s called the Socratic method, by Socrates. So, the best concept that I can offer is to get people to ask “why” in everything. Casa De Luta FightKlub Saarbrücken (Eingang im Hinterhof) Mainze

Nate Diaz trains with Jean Jacques Machado

UFC superstar Nate Diaz trains with jiu-jitsu master Jean Jacques Machado ahead of his rumored fight against Dustin Poirier One of the most important reasons why  Nate Diaz  has developed such a cult following is because he has stayed true to his roots. Nate started training jiu-jitsu  under Cesar Gracie  and never fails to give credits to his team, whenever he gets the opportunity. A third degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu himself, Diaz trains with the likes of Kron Gracie [one of the greatest jiu-jitsu competitors of all time] on a regular basis. He even gives back to the jiu-jitsu community by organizing seminars and workshops across the USA. Jean Jacques Machado , a master of the art, recently posted a picture of him post training with the Stockton slugger. He captioned the post,  ‘ It was great to see you  @natediaz209   ’ Machado is famously known to be the instructor of world-renowned podcaster Joe Rogan, and founder of  10th Planet jiu-jitsu , Eddie Bravo. Garry Tonon believes learning jiu-jitsu in class doesn’t always translate to practical success

When he’s not competing in MMA, Garry Tonon teaches jiu-jitsu to kids and adults alike. However, he maintains that the principles learned in the gym don’t always translate to practical success. “Assuming that the person that you’re fighting doesn’t have a knife, gun, or is of incredibly much larger size than you, or like one of his friends kicked you in the back of the head or something boring, normal, hand-to-hand combat, I would be pretty sure that you’re gonna win in that context.” As a grappler who transitioned to MMA, Garry Tonon said that a student of his could maybe find similar success against an amateur MMA fighter at the most. However, professional MMA fighting is on a different level. He says that learning jiu-jitsu in class will not equip his students with all the skills needed to succeed in MMA: “If you’re competing against somebody who has considerable MMA skill and has been doing it for a lengthy enough period of time and you just had jiu-jitsu knowledge under your bel

BJJ für Frauen Kostenloses Seminar in Saarbrücken

Deutsch Am 8.
