Foods to Eat Before Training for MMA & BJJ
EAT THIS BEFORE BJJ TRAINING
The nutritionist on the video below explains that the following “eating protocol” should be utilized around one hour before training. If you do it closer to your training session, you might experience some stomach-related issues; and if you do it too far out, you might not have enough energy to roll.
Also, keep in mind that this is something you should eat for a low to moderate training activity. So, if you expect to be rolling for 2 hours straight, you’ll be better off with other options.
You’ll want to take in approximately 30 grams of carbohydrates, 10 grams of fat, and 10 grams of protein. Of course, you don’t have to have this dialed in to the “t”, especially as it’ll depend on your bodyweight.
A good option to get all of these macronutrients into your system is a combination of one apple and 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter.
